Prevention Services Coordinator
Herkimer County Prevention Council
(FT – 10 Months/ 35 hrs. per week/pro-rated benefits)

General Responsibilities:
Coordinate and provide comprehensive substance abuse prevention services, including prevention counseling, substance abuse intervention, education and awareness, as defined by the NYS Office of Addiction Services and Supports- targeting students in grades kindergarten through twelve in a Herkimer County School District utilizing universal, selected and/or indicated approaches which enhance protective factors and reduce risk factors related to problem behaviors and associated with substance abuse. Assist in the development and facilitation of programs that help address social issues identified in the individual, family, school and community domains.
Qualifications:
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in social work or other human services related field, 3-5 years’ experience with knowledge of substance abuse, family systems and child development. Credentialed Prevention Professional or eligibility desired. Good presentation, organizational and public speaking skills required. Valid NYS Driver’s License required.
Hiring is contingent upon clearance of OASAS required background checks and Finger Printing, sanction screenings and Central Registry Clearance plus completion of mandated trainings.
